Ed Werder reported this morning that former Dallas Cowboys DT Jay Ratliff has visited the Chicago Bears. DT has been a position of need for the Bears since both Henry Melton and Nate Collins went down with ACLs in weeks 3 and 5.
Ratliff was taken in the 7th round of the NFL Draft by the Cowboys in 2005. He made 4 Pro Bowls during his time there. He has underwhelmed after signing a $40M extension in 2011, going to the injured reserve list after 6 games in 2012. He hasn’t played a down in 2013 and is rumored to be out for the whole season, however teams believe that he can be ready in 2 to 4 weeks.
