NLCS: Adrian Gonzalez issues challenge to Cubs fans at Wrigley Field

After Jon Lester’s spectacular performance and the Chicago Cubs bats staying hot, the NLCS is heading back to Wrigley Field with the home team having a chance to clinch it.

Game 6 will take place on Saturday night at 7:08 p.m. central time as the Cubs are just one game away from their first World Series appearance since 1945.

But the Los Angeles Dodgers aren’t done yet as they will throw ace Clayton Kershaw in a must-win game.

Following Game 5, Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez called out Cubs fans by saying Wrigley Field “isn’t that loud.” Oh boy.

Here’s the full quote from Gonzalez:

“The same (atmosphere) we had in Game 1 and 2,” Gonzalez said when asked what he expected the environment to be like in Game 6, according to the Tribune. “They can’t put any more people in the stands. They can only put so many people.

“They can’t cheer any louder. It’s not like it’s a loud stadium to begin with. They’re going to try their best, and we’re going to tune them out like we always do.”

Not loud? Okay, Gonzalez must have not been paying attention to when Miguel Montero hit a game-winning grand slam in Game 1 of the series:

The Dodgers really shouldn’t be talking either. The fans at Dodger Stadium have been criticized for years for not showing up on time and even leaving early. Not to mention, Cubs fans have been pretty loud in Los Angeles in Game 4 and Game 5.

So you heard him Cubs fans, let’s make Wrigley Field EXTRA loud on Saturday night.

So It’s the Dodgers against the world, right Adrian? That W stands for Win, but it also stands for World. Go World!!!!

I live 1 block north of Irving Park Rd on Sheridan and the patrons at Wrigley Field are so loud I can hear the roar of the crowd where I live !

Seriously, Dodger Stadium in game 3 was a lot louder than Wrigley in Game 2 or most of game 1. And Cub fans don’t cheer until something good happens. I’ve been to numerous games at Wrigley….and I live in Boston. Dodger fans get to the game late because A) you can only get there by driving and B)they draw more fans per game than any other team by far C)they have the largest seating capacity and D) LA has more traffic by far than any other city in the country. Stop being thin skinned! AG only said what is true. Wrigley just isn’t that loud. The fans are more interested in partying after the game, then inspiring the Cubs during the game. Oh, and the last time the two teams met in the playoffs, EVERYONE said, with accuracy, Wrigley was like a tomb. Matt Kemp’s comment was the place was like a cemetery. EOM
