At 30-years-old, Patrick Kane has had one heck of a career for the Chicago Blackhawks so far. Through his first 12 seasons in the NHL, Kane is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion and has won the Conn Smythe Trophy (2013), Art Ross Trophy (2016), Ted Lindsay Award (2016) and Hart Memorial Trophy (2016.
Oh, did we mention he’s putting together a historic career for Chicago this season?
In Wednesday’s road game at Detroit, Kane scored a goal to extend his point streak to 19 games. Kane’s goal in the second period gave the Blackhawks a 4-1 lead as they looked to inch closer to a playoff spot.
But three-straight goals by Detroit in the third period sent the game into overtime. From there, Kane did more damage as he scored the game-winner in OT to beat Detroit:
Wednesday’s game was the 882nd skated for Kane for the Blackhawks, passing Denis Savard for 10th all-time.
No. 88 continues to make history and it’s been fun watching him put this team on his back for a playoff chase.
