The Chicago Cubs are looking to make a move for a cost-controlled starter this offseason and that guy just might be Danny Salazar.
According to 670 The Score and CBS Chicago’s Bruce Levine, the Cubs have had a discussion about the right handed pitcher for the Cleveland Indians. The 27-year-old would fill a big void in the Cubs rotation for the future.

The Indians are looking for a left-handed bat to add to their lineup in return. Although no names have been mentioned, the Cubs are certainly interested in Salazar and someone like Ian Happ or Kyle Schwarber would be an option in the trade.
Salazar posted a 4.28 ERA and 3.30 K/BB in 19 starts for the Indians last season and also made four relief appearances. He’s had some injury issues and will be 28 when the season starts.
