Astros 11, Cubs 6

Chicago — Carlos Silva (9-4) lasted just 41 pitches over 1 inning allowing 5 runs on 7 hits with a pair of walks. After the top of the 1st it and unclimbable hill for the Cubs offense. The Cubs bullpen didn’t fair much better as all 3 relievers allowed at least one run.

Carlos Lee and Jason Castro led the charge against Silva. Lee hit a two run double in the first followed by a two run single from Hunter Pence and Castro hammered a three-run shot off Mitch Atkins in the 3rd putting the game out of reach at 8-0. Chris Johnson also added a home run and three RBI for the triumphant Astros.

Aramis Ramirez and Tyler Colvin both homered and drove in all of the Cubs’ 5 runs. Derrek Lee also added 3 hits in the loss. Carlos Silva’s last two starts have been less than dominant totaling 2 1/3 innings 11 runs on 13 hits with 5 walks and one ejection.

Been following Chicago sports for many years. I have ties to Rockford, Illinois however have since been displaced in North Carolina far from Illinois. I am still an avid fan despite the geographical complications in following my teams. I am known as the internet’s #1 Rex Grossman connoisseur
