Todd Frazier was able to get in a little swinging practice for the Home Run Derby Saturday afternoon against the Atlanta Braves. He smacked a two-run jack out of the yard in the second inning, giving him 25 homers on the season.

Saturday made the second game in a row with a home run for Frazier, who looks to defend his Home Run Derby crown Monday night at Petco Park.

He also swung the bat for a double and finished Saturday’s game with three RBI’s. Frazier was able to get his glove involved in the game also after robbing A.J. Pierzynski of a lead-off hit in the fifth inning.

“I feel stronger, I feel more relaxed, a little quicker swing. For me, it’s hitting good pitches,” Frazier said following the game. “I say this all the time, if I’m swinging outside the zone, I’m going to have some trouble. I feel really good at the plate right now.”

Frazier’s work with the wood was the majority of the production the White Sox gave lefty Jose Quintana.

Run support from the Chicago lineup is not something he has had the opportunity to get used to throughout the first half of the season. During 10 of Quintana’s 18 starts this season, the South Siders have scored three runs or less.

He was able to earn his seventh win of the season Saturday giving up five hits which provided Atlanta with four runs. He was able to send five batters back to the dugout on strike throughout six innings.

The White Sox will look to take the rubber match Sunday when James Shields look for his third straight win.
