The Blackhawks today made two key moves for their upcoming season.
One thing that GM Stan Bowman has reiterated in Press Conferences over the past few weeks was their desire to re-sign Michael Frolik who they acquired last year from Florida in the Jack Skille trade.
Frolik had 11 goals and 27 assists in his split time between Florida and Chicago, and his presence on the 3rd line with Bolland and Bickell shutting down the Sedins in the playoffs was a big reason the Hawks were able to make any sort of comeback in the series.
Frolik has proven in the past that he can score (two 20 goal seasons) and the Hawks are surely hoping he can duplicate that production over the next 3 years.
In another move, the Hawks once again beefed up their Blue Line by adding Defenseman Sami LePisto via Free Agency.
LePisto, who spent last year with Phoenix and Colombus, tallied 16 points last year, but his biggest contribution will not be visible on the score sheet, as he is known for his physical play and shot blocking ability.
