Today’s afternoon game started out with a bang…14 seconds into the first period, a fight broke out between Rockford’s Garrett Ross and Lake Erie’s Trent Vogelhuber. It wasn’t until the 2nd frame before a goal was scored. Vince Hinostroza scored for the IceHogs. Kirill Gotovets (RKD) scored his first goal of the season towards the end of the 2nd frame and was named 1st Star of the Game. Monsters’ Oliver Bjorkstrand blasted one past IceHogs’ netminder, Michael Leighton, at 12:46 of the 3rd period and Rockford’s Bryan Bickell tallied a empty netter at 19:03.
The IceHogs continue to lead the Central Division of the Western Conference in the AHL. Next home game is a back-to-back stand against the Iowa Wild this coming Friday & Saturday.
