The Chicago White Sox have had to endure injury after injury since the first pitch of spring training was thrown. Luckily they will be getting a few players back, with utility man Josh Rojas wrapping up his rehab stint with the Charlotte Knights and should be back soon.
Rojas is one of a handful of players on the injured list who the White Sox could use back in their lineup to continue the success they’ve had over the past couple of games. Once he’s back, Rojas will likely slide into the role of the everyday second baseman, while Chase Meidroth, who just came off the IL, should be the everyday shortstop.
Others remain on the injured list as they work to get themselves back into shape to help keep the good times rolling for the Sox.
The Chicago White Sox get an update on one of their backstops

It’s been 21 games since catcher Korey Lee tweaked his ankle on a pickoff play against the Cleveland Guardians. Since going on the injured list, Lee has been getting treatment and trying to get his ankle back to 100%.
The White Sox got an important update on Lee’s progress, with MLB.com’s Scott Merkin reporting that Lee did some base running drills before today’s game against the Houston Astros. Merkin stated that Lee should be good to go for a rehab assignment as early as next week, and if all goes well, Lee could be back with the White Sox within the next couple of weeks.
Merkin also was able to get a significant quote from Lee where he stated that “It’s a good time to be a catcher in the White Sox organization” referring to the depth the White Sox have at the catching position.
“More Korey Lee: “It’s a good time to be a catcher in the White Sox organization.
Lee ran the bases pregame today and should be on an injury rehab with Charlotte early next week if all goes well today and Sunday.“

Lee was quoted by Merkin when asked for his thoughts on Edgar Quero, who has done well in Lees’s absence.
Lee:
“I couldn’t be happier for Edgar right now. He’s learning, he’s taking his strides on the defensive side of things. We all know he can hit. We all know he’s an extraordinary player, but on the catching side of it, that’s been the most impressive on my end of things.”

The tandem of Lee and Quero

Once he’s back, Lee and Quero will likely be the tandem the White Sox use behind the plate for the rest of the season. Having Lee and Quero behind the dish will give the White Sox one of the better offensive catcher duos in the American League.
Before going on the IL, Lee was hitting .333 with an OPS of .879 in nine games, and Quero is hitting .326 with an OPS of .837 in 15 games. If they can both improve their defense, which is a weakness for both, then the White Sox could be in line to win more games than they expected to win.
