Last week we named Derrick Rose the first ever CCS Five Star Athlete of the week, and this week we add another Chicago athlete to the list of winners.
The CCS Five Star Athlete of the week is….
Patrick Kane, RW Chicago Blackhawks.
With his team in a playoff battle against the Nashville Predators, Kane has come up big in two wins the past week for the ‘Hawks. With a total of two goals, and three assists, Kane has been the best player in this series.
On Sunday, in a game where the Blackhawks virtually had to win to avoid a 0-2 hole in the series, Kane scored a goal and had an assist to help the ‘Hawks even up the series at one a piece.
On Thursday, Kane tallied an a assist in a another crucial game for the ‘Hawks in Nashville to even up the series at two a piece.
Finally, in a series shifting Game 5 on Sunday, Kane had the game tying goal with 18 seconds left in the third period to lift the Blackhawks to a overtime win and a three-two series lead. Kane also added an assist in that game.
Kane is trying to lead the ‘Hawks to the Stanley Cup, and if he keeps up his stellar play, the sky is the limit.
