History was made Sunday night in Los Angeles.
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta threw the team’s first no-hitter since Carlos Zambrano in 2008. Arrieta dominated all game long striking out 12 batters in the game. The right-handed pitcher struck out the side in the 9th and ended it with Chase Utley at bat. It was also the second time in 9 days the Dodgers were no-hit, as Houston’s Mike Fiers accomplished the feat against them as well.
